Henley's 1st Week

Recap of Henley's first week of life. This week was full of so many happy tears and so much joy. We are so in love with this little girl.

A few fun things about Henley:

• She LOVES her head rubbed. It makes her smile. 
• She does not like to be hungry.
• Loud noises don't really bother her. 
• She is very strong. 
• She loves to sleep- I have to wake her up for her night feedings and even then she sleeps through them sometimes!

We have made a few trips to the doctor to check on Henley's weight. She lost over 10% of her body weight when we were in the hospital, so we decided to start supplementing breast feeding with formula, then recently changed to a routine of breast feeding her for 20 minutes, then bottle feeding 1.5 ounces of breast milk or formula or combination of both, then pumping for 20 minutes (for the bottle feedings). We do this every 3 hours. This seems to be working because she had gained 2.5 oz at her last appointment... Yay!!! All of this is exhausting for me but I'll do anything for my baby girl.
