We noticed last Wednesday that Barkley had a small growth on his foot, so we took him to the vet and they recommended that we remove it. They said it was a basal cell tumor, which can sometimes be cancerous, and they were concerned this one was. We had it removed and Bub is doing good. After it was removed the vet assured us it was nothing to worry about and he should never have any complications.

San Francisco ~ Napa
Day 1: San Francisco
We flew into San Francisco on Friday morning. We walked to the Fisherman's Wharf for lunch and sat outside on a patio to enjoy the beautiful weather. After lunch, we headed to Alcatraz. I have been to Alcatraz many times but it is so interesting every time I am there. After Alcatraz, our feet were about to fall off from walking so much, so we headed to the hotel for a nap. We had dinner reservations at Frascati, which was awesome. We were exhausted after dinner, so we went back to the hotel to get some good rest before our drive into Napa on Saturday.
Day 2: Napa
Wow. What a drive to Napa. This place is beautiful. There are mountains and little cities and so many things we do not have here in Texas. Our first stop was Sterling, which was great. You took a gondola ride up to the mountain where the winery was. The tour here was pretty cool as well. Our second stop, my FAVORITE of any of the wineries, was Barnett. The view here was unbelievable. And the wine was wonderful. I learned that I really like Pinot Noir. I might have ordered a few bottles also. :) The last stop of the day was Round Pond. Very pretty here also. After the wineries we headed to the Solage Calistoga to check in and get ready for our dinner reservation at Press. Well, we checked in, and took a nap, and slept through our reservation. Oops. So we went to the Solage Restaurant, which we had heard was really good. It turned out okay, and after dinner, once again, we headed back to the room for a good night's rest.

Day 3: Napa (With a driver driving us)
Breakfast at the Solage was great, then onto wineries... First up was Duckhorn. The tasting room was in a house that looked like an old plantation house... huge wrap around porch overlooking the vineyards. It was very nice. We sat on the porch and enjoyed our wine and the nice weather. Stop 2 was Gamble. Gamble was cool because we were the only people there at the time of our tasting, so we could ask as many questions as we wanted and it was very informative. The wine was great here as well. Stop 3 was Del Dotto. This place was awesome. It was a nicer winery, and the entire tour took place in a cave. They also provided food after the tour, which was much needed. :) Last stop of the day was Sullivan. This one was very "homey." There were dogs roaming the vineyards, and everyone there was having a great time. After Sullivan, we of course wanted to take a nap, but we didn't this time! Instead, we went back to the Solage and took the 4 beach cruisers into the city and went to a bar. It was a blast! I had the BEST margarita ever at this bar and we got the recipe, so we will definitely be trying that out soon. Dinner reservations were at Market. Market was probably the best place we ate at.
We had a great time with great friends and look forward to going back to Napa again VERY soon.
