Updates To the House

We decided it was time for some floor updates in our kitchen and entry hall. In order to save a few bucks, we were going to pull all the laminate up ourselves. So one Friday night in January, Jesse came over and he and Terry began pulling up the wood. This is where it gets funny- there was tile under the wood! What?!? Who would do that! Well, it didn't matter, because now we had a big job on our hands. We could either pay to have the tile taken up, which is not cheap, or we could do it ourselves. So we got to hammering. Jesse and Terry both had shorts on, and by the end of the night, had blood dripping down their legs from flying tile hitting them. We finished the kitchen and decided to pay to have the entry hall done. I do not recommend trying to remove tile with a hammer and screwdriver. Terry had one cut on his leg that he couldn't get to stop bleeding. On Saturday, we went out to Plano Presbyterian Hospital to see Justin and Jennifer's new precious baby Jaycee, and Terry's leg was still bleeding really bad. SOOO, off to the emergency room we went. He got two stitches (see pic of Terry and his hospital bracelet).

The kitchen is still a work in progress, but you can see pics below. It looks like a different house. I love it.
