San Diego 2016

Your daddy had to go on a work trip to San Diego, so we decided that you and I would meet him out there and enjoy a quick getaway to the beach! You were so excited about going to the beach. We had to wake up at 4am on Thursday morning and when I woke you up, I told you that you could keep your eyes closed and sleep until we got on the airplane. You flew up and I said, "we're going to the beach!", and you got so excited and jumped up to get ready. You were such a trooper on the airplane and did so good traveling.

Thursday
We woke up at 4am to head to Love Field for our 7am flight. We got on the plane and you got situated right away. You were so excited about our trip. We got to San Diego and got in our rental car, then headed to Target to pick up some beach toys and other necessities. We then went to the hotel (Marriott Marquis) and got checked in. After dropping off our bags in the room, we went to the pool bar for some lunch. We were both exhausted after lunch and went in for a nap, and when we woke up, Daddy was there! We all went down to the pool and swam, then came back up to the room and called it an early night while Daddy went out with a work friend.

Friday
We woke up and headed to Cody's in La Jolla. We went to Cody's for brunch when you were in Mommy's tummy, and I just had to go back! The food is amazing and they have a great patio with an ocean view. Turns out you LOVE chocolate chip pancakes. After brunch we walked down the beach to see the sea lions and seals. By this time you were getting a little tired, so we decided to head on to the Hotel Del Coronado. We checked in to the Del and got in our room. Daddy ended up upgrading us to an amazing room with a patio that had a view of the pool, beach, and ocean. We changed clothes and went out to the beach! You weren't so sure about the sand at first. You kept trying to wipe your feet off! But you quickly got over it. You and Daddy played in the waves and you had so much fun digging in the sand. We moved to the pool after a while and you and Daddy swam. We went to a nice dinner on the hotel property (Sheerwater) and you fell asleep in my lap. You had such a fun day!

Saturday
We decided to venture out to town today to get brunch. We ended up on a patio and it was a beautiful day for it! After brunch we walked around town and shopped, then went back to the hotel for some more beach fun!We stayed on the beach for nearly the whole day while you and Daddy built a sand castle! We went to dinner at a pizza place on the hotel property (Eno's) and again, you fell asleep in my lap, so we headed back to the room.

Sunday
Back home! You did fantastic on the airplane again, and while we all had a blast on our trip, I think you were glad to be home!
